MIKE WALLACE – THE HATE THAT HATE PRODUCED. (1959)

Posted by arthurstrange on March 24, 2010

Video footage of a young Mike Wallace narrating an expose on a new wave of “Negro Muslims” preaching “hate for the white man.”

Very interesting to study outdated ways of thinking and outdated ways of reporting. Very interesting from a human personality perspective.

Very interesting look at the beginning of the modern hysteria concerning Islam at the height of the civil rights movement in America.

Probably the best documentary ever on the DJ and club music scene that originated in NYC.  Simply the best: Larry Levan, Paradise Garage, The Loft, David Mancuso, Nicky Siano, The Gallery, The Warehouse.

Pump Up The Volume: History of House Music (PT.1)

Posted by arthurstrange on January 4, 2010

Pretty awesome BBC Documentary on the history of Chicago House Music.  Part 1 starts off where documentaries like ‘Maestro’ left off.  It details how as the NYC underground disco club scene was dying out a friend of Larry Levan called Frankie Knuckles brought the dying remains of disco to Chicago where it was nurtured back to health and transformed into something new: Chicago House Music.

U.S. to stay in Iraq forever

Posted by visualmonk on September 7, 2007

Regardless of your position on the Iraq War, it should be understood that it has always been a strategic goal of the United States to have a military presence in the Middle East for a variety of reasons, and the Iraq War has provided the opportunity to see these things through now that we are there. What people must understand is that in the analytical sense it would be strategically illogical to invade a country, and not hold any strategic interests in the country defeated. The United States historically keeps military bases wherever it has a conflict and many bases from past conflicts still remain till this day such as those in Germany, Japan, Cuba, Korea, and now in Iraq.

The movie below is called Bases Are Loaded, and it shows how the U.S. has long term plans for Iraq and has spent some long term dollars to make sure it happens. Some people argue that its all about big business oil, or corrupt politics and they may be partially right. But no doubt, the guiltiest party responsible for American foreign policy is none other than us, the average American citizen who relies on our country’s dominance over oil to guarantee the American way of life, and permanent military control of Iraq will guarantee this way of life for the next 100 years.

For those of you who are begginers at paying attention to what the fuck is happening around you, you can watch the movie Syriana to get a entertaining fictional account of the oil industry, and some effects of big oil politics. For everyone else, the documentary below is well made, factual, and just might accidentally make you a more responsible citizen.
