Regardless of your position on the Iraq War, it should be understood that it has always been a strategic goal of the United States to have a military presence in the Middle East for a variety of reasons, and the Iraq War has provided the opportunity to see these things through now that we are there. What people must understand is that in the analytical sense it would be strategically illogical to invade a country, and not hold any strategic interests in the country defeated. The United States historically keeps military bases wherever it has a conflict and many bases from past conflicts still remain till this day such as those in Germany, Japan, Cuba, Korea, and now in Iraq.

The movie below is called Bases Are Loaded, and it shows how the U.S. has long term plans for Iraq and has spent some long term dollars to make sure it happens. Some people argue that its all about big business oil, or corrupt politics and they may be partially right. But no doubt, the guiltiest party responsible for American foreign policy is none other than us, the average American citizen who relies on our country’s dominance over oil to guarantee the American way of life, and permanent military control of Iraq will guarantee this way of life for the next 100 years.

For those of you who are begginers at paying attention to what the fuck is happening around you, you can watch the movie Syriana to get a entertaining fictional account of the oil industry, and some effects of big oil politics. For everyone else, the documentary below is well made, factual, and just might accidentally make you a more responsible citizen.
